The Eating Disorder Support Group was started because the amount of support and resources for those struggling with eating disorders is limited. We, as an organization, desire to be a place for individuals to come to ask questions, share experiences in a recovery focused manner, and be a safe place to connect with others. This is not intended to be a therapy group, and we strongly encourage you to discuss how attending this group might affect your recovery process with your current treatment team. The group may include some educational topics along the way, and is led by professionals who work with individuals with eating disorders.
Meetings are every Tuesday from 6:00 pm until 7:15 pm at Methodist West Hospital, 1660 60th St., West Des Moines, Iowa 50266, in Conference rooms 1 & 2 (lower level).
The 4th Tuesday of the month, there will be an opportunity for those with caregivers or other supportive individuals to come and receive support as well. Here is some information about the Coffee Connection Caregiver Support Group.
